St Mary's Church

St.Mary's Church is in a prominent setting viewed from the village with its group of north transept, north porch and unusual octagonal crossing tower, which includes a bell dating from 1743 and made by Thomas Bilbie of the Bilbie family.  The church is essentially 13th century and its lancet windows and top parts were added in 15th century. The south transept south window has typical late 13th century tracery.  In 1860 the perpendicular nave, perpendicular north porch and south aisle were added.  It has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade I listed building.

You are very welcome to visit the church which is generally open to all visitors between 9am and 5pm.

Rector:  Geoff Wade
